My path through the international golf industry
I have been working in the golf industry since 2012, in roles spanning operations, management, hospitality and corporate golf. The work has taken me across more than ten countries, from German clubs to international resorts in Southern Europe, North Africa and Asia. Today I focus on senior management in corporate golf and on building this platform around careers, salaries and industry knowledge.
Timeline
- 2008 First steps in online marketing.
- 2010 Apprenticeship as a technical assistant for renewable energy technologies, successfully completed.
- 2012 Joined Clubhaus AG / Spoercken Hotelbetriebe at Schloss Luedersburg, my first role in the golf and hospitality world.
- 2016 Started at ROBINSON in Portugal as Golf Office Agent and was promoted to Golf Office Supervisor.
- 2017 Joined Corporate Golf Management, responsible for more than 40 own and partner courses in eight countries.
- 2019 Moved into the role of Manager Corporate Sports Golf.
- 2020 Launched the German Golf Career and Business Podcast and started this platform.
- 2024 Promoted to Senior Manager Corporate Golf.
- 2025 Published a German trade book on golf tourism.
- Today Continued senior management work plus ongoing development of this platform.
Where the work has taken me
Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Mallorca, the Canary Islands, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Sweden, Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Cape Verde, Tanzania, Vietnam, Thailand and the United States.
My focus
My main area is golf operations: how a course is run on the ground, how operations, the team and the guest experience come together. Marketing and sales are part of the work as well, but operations is where I spend most of my time and where my expertise is strongest.

Why this platform exists

This platform tries to change that, with honest salary breakdowns, plain-language guides on roles and career paths, and long-form interviews with people who actually do the work.
